It’s been just over a month since Sophie Turner divorce from Joe Jonas was finalized, but the emotional impact will likely take much longer to settle. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar on October 30, the Game of Thrones actress shared her feelings on the breakup.

“There’s a lot I can’t talk about due to the ongoing legal process,” she revealed, “but it’s been incredibly sad. We shared a beautiful relationship, and it’s been really tough.”

The couple has two daughters: Willa, who is three, and Delphine, who is two.

Joe Jonas filed for divorce in September 2023, and soon after, rumors circulated suggesting that Turner was more focused on her social life than on her responsibilities as a mother. At one point, Turner took legal action, claiming that Jonas wasn’t allowing their children to travel to her home country, England.

Now back in the United Kingdom, Turner expressed how much she missed her roots, reflecting, “I’m so happy to be back. It felt like my life had been on hold until I returned to England. I never really feel completely like myself when I’m away from London, my friends, and family.”

Reflecting on her time away, she added, “I missed a lot during those six years abroad—friends getting engaged, me becoming a mum. I recently met up with an old friend, and she said, ‘I never even got to see you pregnant!’ We missed out on those special moments together.”

But even with her return to familiar surroundings, Turner admits that her new reality is bittersweet. The shared custody arrangement means time without her daughters, which she describes as “agony.”

Reflecting on how motherhood has shaped her life, she told the magazine, “Before I had kids, I struggled with depression and anxiety, often isolating myself. Now, my life is all about them. I want them to see me working, enjoying friendships, and thriving, so they grow up seeing a strong, hard-working mum.”
